Featuring different sized ramps, it is the only skate park in the borough and has already been popular with youngsters in the area.

Lewisham Mayor Steve Bullock officially opened the ramps at Beckenham Place Park, Downham, last Sunday.

He said: "We talked to residents about what kind of facility they would like in Beckenham Place Park and it was clear a skate park would be a really valued resource.

"The children and young people who will use the skate park were consulted at every stage of the project and their views taken onboard.

"I hope it will become a much-loved facility in Downham and encourage more residents to explore this vibrant park."

The facility can be accessed from the Old Bromley Road entrance of the park.
