COMMUNTY groups were invited to hold displays about their work during an open day at the Weavers Cottage in Rawtenstall.
The open day was organised by the Rossendale Civic Trust with the aim of promoting organisations in the Rossendale Valley who are working towards improving the environment and public services.
Groups who took part included the Rossendale Chartists, the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England, the Whitworth Historical Society and the Civic Trust.
Trust chairman Cathy Fishwick
said: "I think a few people came and saw what was happening in Rossendale which is good because the difficulty is encouraging more people to join in these type of groups."
