ATHERTON Town triumphed in the Manchester League Premier League thanks to a 1-0 victory over Stockport Georgians at Howe Bridge with a goal by Danny Christie to boost their title hopes.
In the First Division it was a bad day for the title chasers as both Ashton Athletic and Breightmet United slipped up, Ashton held at home 1-1 by Tintwistle Villa whilst Breightmet went down 5-3 at home to improving Unsworth.
