Most likely another one they didn't want to play as it probably meant a clause was sprung to give him another deal.

Yes. We only kept them because nobody bid for Hoilett, and the bid for Samba, by QPR was a pi$$ take. There is absolutely NO CHANCE of either of them starting next season for Rovers.
The annoying thing is, is that we probably wont get more than £10/12M for the pair of them.

We need to back Keen now it's our only hope. He has shown a bit of form of late under difficult circumstances. He has managed to hold a lead on the last few occasions of which didn't happen before. Lets hope he can scrap our way out of it. We kicked him for good reason in the first half of the season for poor results. Now we need to back him for better reasons in the later half, for the good of our own club and hope he can pull off a miracle. At least we have kept the better players, a shock about Nelson though.

Unbelievable. Still, I think that Orr will be a decent signing. He'll give us a bit of shape and experience in defence. And we can play Lowe in midfield where I think he could be excellent.

Does the club and Kean not care about telling so many lies to the good people of Blackburn and District? Nelson going is a bit of a blow, he was a good servant to the club and a great Defender when playing....however I do think some are over reacting, he hasnt played for a long time, he is old and the club are trimming the wage bill, for whatever reason, infact the outgoings I am pleased with (Roberts,Nelson, Andrews) I am also pleased we didnt sell Formica as I think he is a good player and hope that we can keep hold of him. The incomings are a bit of a disapointment I would have prefered Sutter to Orr as he is younger and the other 2 are unknown and unproven which is a big disapointment, And again the Venky dictatorship have proved that they are not going to invest the 5 mil per window they promised....to be honest I cant stand them anymore when I see pictures of there face it makes me feel sick....they are disgusting people who do not care about anything but themselves. Go now Venkys be of with you.

A Bordeaux reserve, a fellow relegation struggler's third choice right back, and a free transfer from a Swedish second division club who hasn't played for his club for over 6 months. Total of 4 premier league appearances between the. This is our (at least) 4 quality premier league expereinced players who will hit the ground running whilst also keeping our squad in tact- Kean's own words. Also when asked yesterday about Nelsen and his injury he said he was out in the field playimng for us against Huddersfield in a practise match and would see how his knee reacted. No investment, no structure, no communication, no premier league.

How many lies do we have to put up with? - if he is fit enough to pass a medical for spuds then surely he is fit enough to at least be on our bench.
.
what our club is crying out for is stability and a calm hand on the tiller.
.
Nelsen's departure is just another to add to the list of balls ups from the current regime and as kean is the direct report into madame d - then he is top of the shop when it comes to blame being attributed.

hoilett

I know we have become used to lies and more lies from our owners et al, but you are a bit off the mark on this I think Kiwi....

It is only a couple of weeks ago that Skippy Nelson was making statements to the worlds media as below:

Nelsen came home to New Zealand to consult specialists seeking confirmation the problem in his right knee would not prevent him playing at the highest level again.

"The medical team at Blackburn have been brilliant, they are world class, but it's always good to get a second opinion from guys I know and trust. It's always good when a New Zealander sees a New Zealander."

Nelsen said the visit had confirmed that he can expect to play again. Some Kiwi summer sunshine in Christchurch, Marlborough and Auckland has also helped him feel physically and mentally refreshed, "and hopefully I can get back and help the team".

But he is still taking a cautious approach, saying it is too early to say when he will be able to play at premier league level. "I played a game against Aston Villa in August when some other players weren't available. It set me back really, long term.

"I just don't want that same thing to happen again. I want to be sure when I do come back that I won't be doing long-term damage."

The All Whites' 2010 World Cup finals hero does not feel the injury will prematurely end his career but the 34-year-old quipped: "When you get to my age, you can't guarantee anything!"

The Cantabrian, who returns to England early next week, said it had been "really painful and frustrating having to sit on the sidelines and watch" as Blackburn struggled at the foot of the premier league table this season.

Don't we all know it mate.....

However no need to 'skip' off to bleeding Spurs without even saying bye-bye to the folks who generally supported you really well and appreciated your efforts AND helped pay your wages!

Can only think that Nelson was not a Venkys/Kean fan and just couldn't wait to get away to NZ to get NZ surgeons confirm he is fit to play again. Then he lines up his exit plan. But he didn't need to do it in this underhand way surely?

The Spuds fans don't seem too impressed either, as the comments about signing Nelson are quite derogatory - they cant understand why Old Harry let Bassong go and signed Nelson! just have a look on some of their sites and you will see what I mean.

Anyway lets go beat the Geordies tonight and celebrate another victory...

Nelsen played for the reserves yesterday. It looks to me as if that was to prove to Spurs that he is not finished. Spurs are presumably getting him as cover. He could be like Ledley King - knackered knee but with careful management able to play the odd reliable game. We'll see how many games he plays. I would think that a final stage of his career, in front of big crowds, the possibility of silverware and the odd European game, would suit him and not be a kick in the teeth. I could be wrong. We will see what he says in good time.

Well av you ever asked yourself the ? maybe Nelsen ddnt want to coach and dunn did thats why...dunn is rovers thru and thru..ok he may not be the player he was but he has been a hero for so many rovers fans and to help coach younger players i thinks he is the right man...we need look foward trouble is with a lot of rovers fans at moment is no patience...see how we go tonite against newcastle and see if our improved form over recent weeks is working..i thinks so ..just give the new younguns a chance..rome wasnt built in a day and niether will the rovers be...you know it takes time....and being in the prem there is never a right time as we know cus you need to get out the starting blocks...but wer still ok we win tonight and things will look brighter....we av been unlucky in 3 games i know of this season wer we shud av ad all 9 points from them....if we had we wud be nearly half way up the table..but wer not but thats footy....we are looking good while teams around us are starting to look bad..so lets hope we can keep playing like we know we can defend better and we will be just fine

Roberts and Andrews of no great lose, yet to see Ryan Nelson despatched in this way and having been given no play time for the last two months suggest all was not well between the two parties.
Best of luck to him because he has been a very commited player over the last five seasons...and remember he cost the club nothing !
So, well done Venky and Kean....that is the way you treat your ex club captain....that is the way you treat the fans....hopingly what goes around comes around.
It is all about the team in the next month, especially with everyone from Manager to the whole squad members needing to make it happen on this shoestring budget.
Of the Venky,s I can,nt believe the arrogance of not making any attempt of up-front communication with the fans and sponsors.... they certainly deserve all the negative feedback via the (world) media.

What's underhand about what he's done? He's returned, and by all accounts the club have released him from his contract. It's hardly his fault they want the higher earners off the wage bill.

Samba has come out and said he can't give 100% for us anymore. The petulant stance both he and the club have taken has done neither party any favours. With a bit of sensible dialogue, I'm sure a compromise could have been found. As it stands, I doubt he will play again. And if his heart isn't in it, he shouldn't. I think Kean is slowly getting rid of those older heads who had a bit of influence on the younger lads. If Robinsons form hadn't been so exceptional, he'd be another.

Best of luck to Roberts, Nelsen and Andrews. All deserved much better, and 2 should have walked into our starting 11.

Won't say to much it seems to touch the nerve ends of some people - the fact that Nelsen has gone at the age of 34 is not surprising - its the way it has been done - Kean and the Venkys have no respect what so ever for the Rovers fans - they bring this hostility upon themselves by not being up front and communicating with them.
Nelsen has been a good club man unlike some and it would have been nice for the fans to see him and wish him well but not to be - we just have to sit back say nothing and accept all the fairy tales we are told by Kean - well not me!!!!
So much then for the 4 premiership players we were going to buy and who would hit the ground running - instead one undisclosed small fee and two freebies and none playing for there current teams - excellent buys and now we can see why Kean kept these signings close to his chest.
Lastly when are we going to see the Venkys at Ewood supporting their so called 'baby' - only time will tell - I hope when the eventually do turn up they get the reception that they deserve.!!!!!!!
out with Kean and out withe the Venkys.

I admire your optimism; we've signed a relegation candidate's reserve full back and why should we get excited about Olssen's older/younger brother on the basis he is from the same gene pool?

And those we've kept? Two most definitely want away, one won't sign a contract, so we can assume he does as well, and we aren't too sure where the other two stand.

Time to rejoice for sure.

Any one nearing a clause in their contract that will cost the club (Venkeys!) substantial expense are being allowed to leave or frozen out (not allowing the clause to trigger ). All the players this applies to are players not adding any value to the worth to BRFC (in someone’s opinion!!)- in other words on the balance sheet they are liabilities not assets.

Samba, Holilet, Formica, Olsson, Yak (at the moment) and a few others are different, they are assets which are part of the overall club valuation.

Any betting the three new signings will have inferior negotiated contract to the players leaving.

Saying that, Kean/or someone!! must have advise the owners of the value of all individual players worth to the club……this approach is no different to how all the employees of BRFC are being treated, not just the multi-million footballers (which I haven’t the slightest concern with) but the office/labourers staff etc with their job security up in the air now is concerning.

Most of us are disappointed Nelsen has gone because he was so popular and in his day a very good player. But he is 34 and the last time we saw him play he looked very creaky running. What he will do at Spurs s0d knows - carry Harry's cash bags I imagine or his jim jams to The Scrubs.
*
Andrews departure is a relief - to watch such a limited player is painful.
*
Fulham have signed B-Listers and certainly not players to blow the bottom teams out of the water. Yeah, Hughes will get them coached-to-death playing his way and they will probably survive.
*
Arguably, Olsson and Orr are C-Listers, but at least we have kept our best players.

It's all about money, cutting costs and nothing to do with Football. There's no footie strategy. Salgado hasn't been good lately, but I'd prefer him in a struggle than Orr, it's just that Orr is cheaper. I have never liked Andrews but he could have been handy in a relegation struggle, but Venkys wanted shutt of his higher wages.
Nelsen was probably offered some coaching chance at Spurs.
It's just like Emmo, he said publically he would have prefered to stay a bit longer then go to Oz, but venkys cleared him and his wages off the payroll double quick when there was the chance of cash.
"We're not a selling club" remember that one.

The poison posting is starting early I see. Before we went in the window we were selling Nzonzi Formica Samba Hoilett and the YAK. Now its shut and we sold Andrews let Nelsen leave for free and its blown all the asset stripping tomsh1ttery out of the water. So now we have to roll out the hey wheres the investment bandwagon so come next tranfer window the dung beatles will have amassed another big ball of sh1t to spread and to hoof around.
They didn't strip any assets we took on some steady away signings, we have reduced the average age of the squad for the second period. So all you lot can do is moan. Typical Victor Meldrew FC.

Get used to it, the greenest thing in darwen is this numpty who changes her oppinion like the weather. What this shows is that Venkys are crap at business. A defender who's interception stats are bettered by only by two other defenders in the Prem and they 'let him go'. The fact is, if you can't afford to offer someone another contract you'll take anything, including letting people go for nothing. My argument about Venky's is that they don't have any money to invest and know nothing about football, yet want to dictate every move......'from the safety of India'. They are investing nothing and simply waiting to earn a gauranteed £12million a year over the next four years, then and only then will they drop the club like a brick. "Asset stripping" the removal of assets and who have Rovers brought in? Free transfers, a guy they turned down in 2006 and a player not good enough to play for another relegation battler, QPR. On the argument of asset stripping, they can hardly be said to have replaced any assets like for like. The farce that was the transfer window will not improve Rovers chances. speaks volumes when Kieth Andres has said he couldn't wait to get away from Rovers.
