The EFL has confirmed the details for the summer and winter transfer windows during the 2024/25 campaign.
The summer window will open from Friday, June 14 – the same day as the European Championships kick off in Germany - and slam shut at 11pm on Friday, August 30 for clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two.
Meanwhile, the winter window will open on New Year’s Day 2025 and close at 11pm on Monday, February 3.
Rovers are gearing up for another season in the second tier after securing safety on the final day with a 2-0 victory against champions Leicester. Sam Szmodics bagged a brace at the King Power Stadium, taking his tally for the season to 33 goals in all competitions.
Sondre Tronstad, Arnor Sigurdsson, Leo Wahlstedt, Semir Telalovic and Niall Ennis all arrived at Ewood Park last summer, while Andrew Moran and James Hill signed on loan deals.
Kyle McFadzean, John Fleck and Connor O’Riordan were added to the squad in January as well as loan deals for Yasin Ayari, Ben Chrisene and Billy Koumetio. However, the main talking point was Adam Wharton’s move to Premier League Crystal Palace for a club-record fee.
Fixtures for next season’s Championship schedule are set to be released at 9am on Wednesday, June 26 as clubs look forward to learning who they will come up against on the opening day.
Meanwhile, Rovers youngsters Lenni Cirino and Adam Khan have earned international call-ups for Montserrat and Pakistan respectively.
Cirino has been selected for the training camps in Spain and Miami ahead of World Cup Concacaf qualifiers against Nicaragua and Panama next month, both taking place at Nicaragua’s national stadium.
The Blackburn-born youngster made his first appearances for Montserrat during a double header against Antigua in March under former Charlton and Birmingham boss Lee Bowyer.
Khan has been called up for Pakistan for the first time and will link up with the squad for a training camp in Islamabad.
The side have World Cup pre-qualifiers against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan next month and currently sit bottom of Group G.
