Of course we'll give him time Michael. Most rovers fans know not to expect too much from a player who has hardly kicked a ball in the last 18 months.
We can't expect much, if anything, from him this season at all.

I agree, it's frustrating when you have quality players on the bench who don't get a sniff. These players should be getting some game time each match especially if we are not winning.

Trouble is Nunes, Gomez and Goodwillie etc. are not match fit through not playing.
What can we expect of them if they do come on? Ten minutes as a sub,here and there is no good.
On the other hand Best is coming back to the bench after not having kicked a ball for the last 18 months.

In the matter of bringing in these loan players is it the Venky's who will have the final decision or is it Rhe Global Adviser? If it is the Venkys will Appleton have to go through The Global Adviser or will he go direct? If he has to go through The Global Adviser has the latter introduced himself to Appleton yet?

I agree, When the subs came on you knew they were fit and ready to slot into the team. I hope they are playing regularly in the reserves. Does any one know?

I did think it was a bit wierd yesterday that the Telegraph was saying 'Best has played 80 minutes this afternoon, so he might be on the bench tomorrow night" - surely, that was never going to happen?

I like Appys comments re Bentley, whilst he looked a bit rusty, I thought Bentley looked like a good addition on Saturday, good positional play and the ability to take players on as well as whip a cross in...he will be a great addition for us. Also interesting that his contract at Spurs expires at the end of the season - you never know!

Nunes won't get a start because he,s not defensive minded enough - this manager 's first thought in every game is defence ,defence and try and nick a goal at the other end ! Tonight at Leicester will be park the bus night !
He might have stopped the rot but we ain't going nowhere with this manager !

Interesting point , can the manager M.A. who at the end of the day make the sole decision to bring in players in ?
It is the managers reputation and credibility that is on the line no one else ,not the man comically described as a "'global advisor" surely the Venky`s by now realise what a complete nincompoop Singh is.
I hope the Venky`s realise by now ,we need to put the utmost faith in M.A. and show Singh and the man that hangs around with him all the time since Kean left ,Hendry both of them out on their ars*s.

I remain ever optimistic but tinged with realism. However, this writing up of Best as a great solution to our needs up front is absolutely OTT. Best was promising some years ago at Coventry and quickly slipped down the pecking order at Newcastle. At best (sorry for pun) he's a useful workaday addition to a Championship squad.
Bentley on the other hand, has always had a touch of class and reached his zenith under Sparkie. But he's a tender plant, it's a test for Apple's man management skills.

Are we going through the same Venkys process were these players are picking up mystery injuries....
Gomes should have come on Saturday. Appleton shoud have been making radical changes on the hour mark. Campbell is way short of match practice and we have capable players on the bench that for some reason can't come on. I don't believe Nunes is still injured and also Givet should be given a run at left back with the crisis we have. Rekik did ok in the 2nd half and Orr was very lucky on more than one occasion. Also please stop bringing Pederson on, anybody could do what he does, turn and hoof it goes to nobody and comes straight back!!!! 3 points toinight could be vry difficult indeed.

campbell cant have been mentally right, as he supposed to have off-field distractions and could not train with the squad, may have contributed to his low key performances,

players like gomes can bring a bit more nous in front of goal, i dont think he's the type of player who would panic in front of goal, trying ridiculous shots from impossible angles, blazing them high and wide, if there is a better option available we would expect him to keep the ball alive, by controlling the ball first, before doing anything,

Nunez can't cross... lets face facts. Pace is good but final ball is horrific. Nuno Gomez should be starting in my eyes. He has barely put a foot wrong since signing for Rovers and doesnt deserve to be excluded from the squad.

Perhaps Appleton shouldnt have shipped out all our decent midfielders in the last window and then we wouldnt be having problems now...

Concerned that we are fast becoming a squad of loanee's. Are Venkys trying to strip the wealth of the playing squad? I agree to try before you buy but it can be a no-win situation: if the player plays well, the parent club want him back, if he plays poorly, we don't want him - just look at Jermaine Jones. The best you can hope for is mediocrity followed by second season startling success.

The last I heard ,was that he was being put in charge of the football academy in India,not heard anything since though. As regards the ealier post concerning the venkys backing MA. I think that they amply demonstrated once again in the last transfer window just how low down on their priorities B.R.F.C. are, is there anyone who seriously thinks that the debacle that occured on the last day of the window happened without the full knowledge of our controlling owners? surely not !! Right from the moment that they slithered into Ewood they left us in no doubt that the respect that our club had earned through being run in an open,professional, friendly way for more than a century ,and the proud history of our club , or the love that the fans had for the club, meant nothing whatsoever to them. Anyone at the club who would have objected to what was coming next was quickly sacked or forced out to be replaced by substandard pliable replacements or just downright parasites who would either turn a blind eye and be thankful for the job they were no way qualified to do ,or join in as their cash cow was milked and the mid premiership quality squad was dismantled, to be sold off to line their greasy pockets,and then to be replaced by unknown and foreign players that wouldn,t have been picked to play in a bumley B side, but yet incured massive agents fees for their signatures. The club has had it's very heart ripped out of it and the running costs have been stripped to a fraction of what a club aiming to return to the premiership at the first attempt needed to be , peanuts and monkeys,so to speak. It speaks volumes as to how far we have fallen,when we are looking to have five players on loan as we need to strenghten the squad. Pathetic !! My own feelings as to what happens if we don't make it into the play-offs and gain promotion to riches (for the venkys mainly) , which in no stretch of the imagination we deserve to do, is that I can see our ignorant and arrogent owner(s) just staying around long enough to pocket the last decent lump of parachute payment at the start of next season,and either selling us off at a bargain basement price in Asia (after raping us one last time no doubt) or sending us to the wall and terminating venkys London. I really believe that the frosty reception that she got at Ewood and the even frostier missile that hit her man in his rather large head would have meant that her interest in the club will be finally over and that her hatred for the supporters is guaranteed ....
