A 30-YEAR-OLD man who had been hoping for a reconciliation with his ex-partner lost his temper when he went to her home in the early hours of the morning and realised she was there with her new boyfriend.
Blackburn magistrates heard Ashley Fielding began kicking the other man's car and caused £300 worth of damage.
Fielding, of Hollowhead Avenue, Wilpshire, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a VW Pollo belonging to Simon Williams.
He was fined £116 and ordered to pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Amy Kennedy, who had previously been engaged to Fielding, was at home in Whalley when she heard banging on the door and shouting. She then heard banging on a car and called the police.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Fielding was under the impression that he and Miss Kennedy were going to get back together.
"He went to her address, which he is paying for, and realised her relationship with Mr Williams hadn't finished," said Mr Taylor.
