THE Ribble Valley Raiders Cricket Club in Clitheroe are hoping to attract enough votes to fund it’s latest project.
The club, which was recently formed, is hoping to receive up to £1,000 from insurance company Aviva through it’s community fund if it gets enough votes by the end of the month.
If successful it will be among 362 projects elected to receive funding awards from £1,000 to £25,000.
The club is hoping to give children from the area who have been unable to access cricket due to financial or class barriers the chance to play the game.
Heather Smith, director of Aviva’s UK Direct business, said: “Anyone in the UK can nominate a community group, club or charity.
“The different levels of funding mean that everyone has the chance to make a difference to their local community.”
