POPULAR seven-piece cover band Junction 31 will be performing at a fundraising night of music.

The event, on March 23 at The Shireburn Arms Hotel, in Hurst Green, will be raising funds for Altham RSPCA animal centre.

Laura Cooper from the band said she wanted to help the charity after hearing that its Masquerade Ball could not go ahead last autumn.

She said: “I’ve done lots of volunteering for the RSPCA in the past and I thought it was a real shame the ball had to be cancelled.

“So I spoke to the rest of the band and we were all up for helping out as best we could.

“We realise times are tough, but local charities such as the RSPCA animal centre still have to find the money to continue their work somehow.

“We are delighted to be playing our part in that, and we just hope that the event raises lots of money.”

The evening, which will include a hot pot supper, starts at 7pm and tickets cost £15, from the RSPCA shop in Castle Street, Clitheroe, The Shireburne Arms and by calling 01254 851924.
