A LATE Spencer Jordan goal secured a derby win for Padiham and booked a place in the Macron Cup third round.

The Storks were 2-1 winners over AFC Darwen in their second round tie on Tuesday night at the Arbories.

An own goal put the hosts in front before Karl Turner levelled for the Salmoners, struggling at the wrong end of the Premier Division, with 19 minutes to go.

But Jordan won it six minutes from time to send Liam Smith and Dixon Lambert's men into the last 16.

Barnoldswick Town, beaten finalists last season, are out after a 4-0 home reverse to Charnock Richard.

And Barlick boss Danny Craig felt missed chances cost his side.

He said: "I can't say that Charnock didn't deserve their goals because they played some really good football.

"But we had three good chances that we should have taken and at crucial times in the game.

"We didn't give ourselves a chance to make a game of it."

Bacup Borough's second round trip to Ashton Athletic takes place on Thursday (8pm).
