CLITHEROE UFC ace Michael Bisping overcame a horrific toe injury to secure a split decision victory over Thales Leites in his first fight in the UK in five years.
Bisping edged two of the three judges’ scorecards in the five-round fight at the sold-out SSE Hydro in Glasgow, despite suffering the injury to the big toe on his left foot in the first round.
The 36-year-old was left with a section of his toe hanging off and appeared in agony at various stages during the bout as he battled on to secure victory.
It maintained his 100 per cent record in fights on UK soil, and kept him in contention for a world middleweight title fight.
