Mo Farah has had bookmakers running for cover once already at the London 2012 Olympics and punters will be hoping for another golden moment from the 29-year-old tomorrow night.

Farah stormed to victory over 10,000 metres last Saturday after the layers had earlier been left reeling by the heptathlon triumph of Jessica Ennis.

He was understandably less impressive when labouring through Wednesday's 5000m heats but Farah remains a slight favourite at 7/4 to complete a famous double, with Ethiopia's Dejen Gebremeskel rated the big danger at 9/5.

Bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: "Farah understandably looked off the bridle in his heat after the tough 10,000m final a few days earlier but, despite us easing his price, he still goes into Saturday's race with a great chance of a golden double."

However, Joe Crilly of William Hill warned: "Mo was odds-on to win the 10,000m by the time the race started but it is hard to see that happening in this race. The 5000m has a stronger field and Mo also has a race in his legs. It is going to be a close one."

Brazil have been scoring goals for fun throughout the men's football tournament and they are hot favourites at 8/15 to secure a sixth straight match victory by beating Mexico in 90 minutes in tomorrow's Wembley final.

The Samba Stars have scored three goals in each of their five fixtures so far at these Games and punters can get 2/1 with bet365, Ladbrokes or Stan James for them to continue that trend or bag even more in the decider.

The new Premier League season is fast approaching and Manchester City are fancied to erase the memory of last year's Community Shield heartbreak by edging out Chelsea at Villa Park on Sunday.

Roberto Mancini's side cruised into a 2-0 lead against neighbours United at Wembley 12 months ago only for the Red Devils to hit back through Chris Smalling and a Nani brace, with the winning goal coming in injury time.

This time they will go into the pre-season showpiece on the back of five straight warm-up victories, having got the better of Besiktas, Arsenal, Malaysia, Wolfsburg and Limerick and City can be backed at 13/10 with Blue Square or William Hill to prevail after 90 minutes.

Those wanting to play it a little safer can get 4/6 for the Premier League champions to lift the trophy, with Chelsea 5/4 at best with Sky Bet to add this piece of silverware to their FA Cup and Champions League triumphs at the end of last term.

Sergio Aguero has hit the back of the net in three of City's friendly wins, so 15/8 at Stan James for him to strike at any time here appeals, as does 11/2 for the Argentina ace to break the deadlock.
