WE seem to have taken a reverse swing.

Earlier in the season our defending was our strong point but we just couldn’t put the puck away.

But while we’re now scoring goals, in the last couple of games we’ve been sloppy in certain areas and we have been punished.

If we can get the balance right between the two I think we’ll be okay, we’ll win some games and get up the league.

Even though we lost at Solway Sharks on Saturday we played well.

We just gave away too many penalties and too many sloppy chances and against a team of quality finishers, we got punished.

But we weren’t too down on the way home.

It would have been a different story had we played badly and lost. But on another day I think we would have won the game.

We’ve got Billingham at home on Sunday. It’s a big game for us.

There were a couple of maybe not shock results at the weekend but certainly this year teams are beating teams you wouldn’t expect them too.

I think there’s only Telford who haven’t picked up any points yet but this is a development year for them so it was always going to be tough for them.

Everyone else is beating everyone else – it’s definitely the tightest league it’s ever been.

Hopefully we’ll have a couple of new lads in for the Billingham game.

It’s a game we can definitely go out and win.

When we play to our strengths and stick to our game plan we can beat anybody in the league.

I don’t think we’ve played to our full potential this year but we’ve got to do it sometime and hopefully it will be on Sunday.

If we can keep it tight at the back, we should be able to catch them on the break and hopefully we’ll put the puck away and get the result in the end.

And I’m confident that we can do that if we all play together.
