ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman has revealed the club needs the fans more than ever right now.

Coleman and his assistant Jimmy Bell have come under fire from unhappy Reds supporters after the midweek mauling at the hands of Peterborough United.

But with tomorrow's opponents Brentford rumoured to be bringing up to 1000 fans to the Fraser Eagle Stadium, he insisted it was vital the Stanley following kept the faith.

He said: "I've always been of the opinion that you need the support through the bad times than the good times. Unfortunately that's not something that everyone subscribes to.

"When everything is going well you don't notice the outside influences. But when things are going bad it can have an adverse effect.

"Fortunately, I've been blessed because our fans have been amazing in the eight-and-a-half years that I've been here.

"I'd like them to continue in that manner."

The Reds players and management have watched the video from Tuesday night's match three times as they attempt to bounce back from their embarrassing 8-2 defeat at London Road.

And although defensively, Coleman's side were poor, he refused to point the finger at his stoppers, instead admitting it was up to everyone at the club to shoulder the blame.

But he warned his under-performing players a repeat of the Posh horror show would not be tolerated.

He said: "People don't go out to lose deliberately and while I don't want to beat the players up, it's important that we educate them.

"We've obviously watched the video, but I've got to take a lot of the blame myself.

"I speak to the chairman on a regular basis and he knows who our targets are.

"But we can't keep on signing players who don't perform.

"The players we've brought in haven't proven to be as good as we thought they were and it's my job now to bring better players in."
