POLICE in Blackburn are appealing for information after football violence broke out among Blackburn Rovers fans abroad.
The incident happened on Valentine's Day, February 14, when Rovers were playing Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.
Officers investigating the trouble are working closely with Blackburn Rovers FC and German authorities.
Detective Inspector Pete Simm, of Blackburn Police, said: "Initial inquiries have revealed a small number of Blackburn Rovers supporters were involved in an incident of disorder between themselves in the ground.
"The majority of the fans at the match behaved impeccably but a small number of Blackburn Rovers supporters became involved in what is believed to be a fight.
"Fortunately, no-one was seriously injured but we are treating the matter seriously and are appealing to anyone with information to help us identify those responsible to contact us."
