AN East Lancashire youth rugby team has been kitted out thanks to a firm of accountants.

Rossendale Rugby Club’s Senior Colts were presented with a new playing strip for the 2016/17 season by Haslingden-based Cassons, who have previously helped to fund two playing kits and a set of training tops.

The team, who are based at the Rossendale Sports Club at Marl Pits in Rawtenstall, received new shirts, shorts and socks ahead of their home match against Tarleton. The Senior Colts’ team coach, Paul Kilshaw, said: “Given the nature of our sport, it’s fair to say our kit takes quite a hammering during the course of a season so it’s important we invest in good quality equipment.

“Thanks to the generous support of Cassons, we’ve been able to purchase a new strip for our Senior Colts team, which the lads will wear with pride this season.

“They certainly look the part in the new kit and I’m sure it will inspire the team to deliver the performances to match their stylish new look!”

Les Nutter, managing partner at Cassons, added: “We are delighted to be providing kits for Rossendale Rugby Club for a fourth year. The club is an important part of the community and we are proud to see our name on the front of the Senior Colts’ shirts.

“We wish the team all the best for a successful season.”
