BLACKBURN Youth Zone’s star futsal teams took to the pitch at Ewood Park for a final match to mark the end of the Zone’s futsal league season.

Over 100 young people took part in Blackburn Youth Zone’s under 21s and under 18s Futsal Leagues with the hopes of winning the league and being treated to a prize supplied by Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.

The winning teams were invited to play at Ewood Park Stadium which proved to be a dream come true for many of the keen football fans.

Weekly sports sessions at Blackburn Youth Zone were supported by the ‘Motivate’ at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust initiative which aims to get more young people involved in sports and exercise.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust also treated Youth Zone members to free Rovers tickets throughout the sessions as part of the ongoing partnership.

David Dunwell of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust said: “The Futsal leagues at Blackburn Youth Zone have been a massive success with well over 100 participants across the two age categories.

“We are thrilled with all the positive stories coming from BYZ from the Futsal and the other five Motivate satellites based at the BYZ venue.

“This event was a celebration of the positive outcomes that have been achieved as part of the Sport England funding, along with a unique reward for those earning the chance to attend.”
