TWO students from Haslingden High School bounced their way into the regional finals of the Schools’ Trampoline Championships.

Paul Chambers, 18, and 11-year-old Max Constant, along with a team from Haslingden High School, competed in the North West round of the Schools’ Trampoline Championships which were held at Robin Park Arena, Wigan.

They both won their heats and will now compete in the Northern final in Newcastle in January and hopefully earn a place in the national final.

Paul came sixth last year in the national final and in 2011 he came third.

He has been trampolining since he was at Waterfoot Primary School and is hoping to do even better this year.

The talented teenager, who trains twice a week at Bury Trampoline Club, won the under 19s intermediate heat.

This year will be the last year that he will compete for school because next year he will be at university on a business management course.

Max has been trampolining since he was two-years-old when his family had a trampoline in their garden.

“I came first in the under 14s intermediate category and there were 12 in the heat,” he said.

“I used to go to a trampoline club and now I practice four times a week, in lessons and also after school.”

Max also won gold in October when he attended the World Kickboxing Championships in Florida.

Haslingden High School’s team in the boys under 14s intermediate came second in their heat.
