RIBBLESDALE Wanderers Bowling Club brought the curtain down on another successful season at the annual presentation evening held at the Calf’s Head Hotel in Worston.

Guest of honour, Ian Tomlinson, a long standing stalwart of the club, presented trophies to the league club winners and also the in-house club competition winners.

n Roll of honour Player of the Season: Blackburn League: Gordon Dixon; Great Harwood League A: Malcolm Wensley; Great Harwood League B: Stuart Greenwood; Hyndburn League C: Albert Shore; Hyndburn Vets League A: Eric Wallace; Hyndburn Vets League B: Lillian Tomlinson Club Competitions: Norman Niven Trophy: runner-up Gorden Dixon – winner Alan Dewhurst; Mel’s Move-it Doubles: winners John Steinson and Wendy Slinger; Harriet Aubin Mixed Doubles: winners Alan Dewhurst and Lillian Tomlinson ; Vets Memorial Trophy: runner-up Mark Graham – winner George Rushton; Ribblesdale Cup: runner-up: Martin Rimmer – winner Pat Holt Hyndburn League Competitions: A.U.E.W. Veterans Bowling Trophy was won by Alan Dewhurst; Hyndburn Singles Bowling Trophy was won by Mark Graham Both Dewhurst and Graham will go through to play in the Champion of Champions next year.

The Hyndburn Vets A team came runners up in Division one and the Hyndburn A reached the semi-finals Cup K/O.

The night finished off with stand-up bingo and play your cards right, the dolly who did the dealing was Sarah Varley and the joker of the pack was Mark Graham, many thanks to all who attended.

The clubs AGM will be held on Tuesday, November 24 at the club at 8pm and all our welcome.
