EUXTON Cricket Club's under-13 team has secured a new sponsor that will enable them to buy fresh kit for the 2015/16 season.

Property developer Taylor Wimpey has given the club, which is based just a short distance from the homebuilder’s Rowan Manor development, a cash boost of £500 for the coming season.

Andrew Stringfellow, chairman at Euxton Cricket Club, said the sponsorship was great for the juniors.

"It’s great that a national company as established as Taylor Wimpey is supporting the club," he said. "Donations like this are crucial as they enable us to provide the facilities we do for so many local people.

"New kits are essential for all of our players, so we’re over the moon to have Taylor Wimpey’s support as one of our junior sponsors."

Euxton Cricket Club’s junior division currently has five teams, ranging from under nines right up to under 18s – and is based at Balshaw Park.

Sue Irving, sales manager at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: "It’s an absolute pleasure to be associated with Euxton Cricket Club – especially with them being based so close to our Rowan Manor development.

"We’re delighted that our sponsorship is making such a huge difference and we wish them all the best for the coming season."

Mr Stringfellow added: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation. It truly is very much appreciated by the whole club."
