BURNLEY Bobcats’ Girls Captain, 17 year old Katie Rennolds, a sixth form student at St Christopher’s CE High School, represented the North West at the English Swimming Schools Associations Inter-Divisional Championship Gala at Sunderland over the weekend of the 27-28 June 2015.

Katie swam two individual events, the 200m freestyle and 800m freestyle and was part of the 4 x 100m individual medley relay team.

Katie won the 800m freestyle event, achieving a 3 second pb in a winning time of 8.53.50 and finished in third place in the 200m freestyle race in a time of 2.03.14. She also swam the freestyle leg of the 4 x 100m Medley Relay to bring the North West team home in first place.

At the conclusion of the two day event the North West team finished in first place, a fantastic achievement out of the eight Regions competing.

Head Coach Noel Horton said “for Katie to be chosen to represent the North West at this event was an excellent achievement and to top it off with personal bests and crowned champions is great news”.
