A TOTAL of 31 footballers from a Rawtenstall school showed off their skills on the pitch during a five-day tour in Spain.
The players from Alder Grange School and Sixth Form showed they had what it takes with remarkable performances.
They trained daily at Valencia CF first team training complex and played against local team Llíria CF, resulting in draws for both the Under 14s at 2-2 and the Under 16s at 3-3.
PE teacher Roger Haythornthwaite organised the educational sports trip accompanied by two staff, which took 10 months of planning.
Meanwhile, Alder Grange girls reached the Greater Manchester Girls Regional competition.
Held at the Oldham Mahdlo Youth Club in Egerton, the girls from Alder Grange Community, Technology School and Sixth Form won their first game 180 runs to 30, but were knocked out in the semi-finals 84 runs to 82.
And the school showed off its all-round talents earlier in the year when Amelia Chadfield and Josh Whitehead represented Lancashire in the English school’s Cross Country Championships having done well in the county finals at Witton Park.
