Chorley headed to the North East in a confident and focused mood to Chester-le-Street where they faced tough opponents.

The game started with high pressure from the Durham based team and Chorley seemed sluggish after their journey, allowing Chester-le-Street to take the lead after slack defending from a corner.

Chorley woke from their slumber and they linked up well producing some excellent phases of passing but were unable to convert numerous chances before half time.

Chorley management ensured positivity and pushed Janet Dawson into a more impacting attacking role.

However, the interval arrived at the wrong time as Chorley conceded three quick goals from poor defending.

Chorley remained upbeat and pushed forward creating a handful of chances but Chester-le-Street remained strong and punished Chorley further on the counter attack.

Chorley return to Lancashire Cup action next Sunday at home to Southport at Charnock Richard.
