Rossendale Community Boxing Club held its Annual Presentation Evening recently to celebrate the success of its members recently.

Prizes were awarded on the night by reigning WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion Anthony “Million Dollar” Crolla, with 30 young boys and girls receiving ABAE Level 1 & 2 certificates and medals. Awards were also presented to the clubs competition boxers for their successes during the 2013/14 season.

Junior Boxer of the Year was awarded to Lewis Farrelly, with Senior Boxer of the Year awarded to Jake Law.

Both have had an excellent start to their amateur boxing careers and will hopefully build on this in their second season.

The Club Coaches Award was presented to Catherine Gray for her unstinting hard work and dedication over the last 12 months.

The club is now looking forward to hosting its first ever ABAE-affiliated boxing show at Bacup Hub, on on Saturday, October 25 showcasing local boxing talent in Rossendale and the surrounding area.

Rossendale Community Boxing Club is a voluntary organisation run for the benefit of the community. All proceeds from the night will be re-invested into improving club facilities and maintaining a safe, friendly environment for boxing & fitness training for all in the community.
