At the recent AMA (Amateur Martial Association) national karate squad selections, Tower Shukokai's Imogen Skipper won her full senior England badge and can now display the prestigious ‘Three Lions’ logo on her karategi (karate uniform).

The 16-year-old Blacksnape athlete is already competing at senior level – as well as in her own 15-17 years category – and recently fought Senior European Champion Amy Davies of South Wales to a draw on her own turf in Cardiff.

Imogen competes next at the North West Open in Bury on Sunday, where again she is fighting both in the 15-17 category and in the senior division.

This tournament is one step in her preparations for the World Under 21 Championships in Szczecin, Poland in October.

This will be her second trip to Poland this year as she recently undertook the ‘World Challenge’ trek in the Tatra Mountains shortly after completing her GCSE exams.
