We asked our fans' jury: "With 15 games gone, have your expectations for Rovers' season changed?"

It's a brave and dangerous individual who has expectations regarding any aspect of Blackburn Rovers. A bit like playing Russian roulette with 5 chambers loaded.

I expect the inconsistency of performances to continue unless and until the squad has a leader and motivator on the field.

I hope rather than expect to gain a top six place come the season's end and hope that the good progress made by young academy players continues as they establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

In essence I expect to be tantalised and disillusioned as has become the norm.

It's certainly not been the formality that many fans predicted and it's been a steep learning curve and one which we haven't fully acclimatised to yet.

We can bemoan our luck with injury setbacks yet we have also been blessed with the fitness of Charlie Mulgrew and Corry Evans, two players with a history of injuries.

Every team sees a victory against Blackburn as a scalp and if we are to get promoted then we will have earned it. I still expect promotion and hope that we continue to learn the league but automatic promotion is becoming less likely.

We are waiting for that elusive winning run which if it comes could change our season. Without it we'll be scrapping for the play offs.

For those of us who thought Rovers would walk this league and go straight back up as champions, the first 15 games have been a wake-up call. The same could be said for some of the players, whose complacency showed as Rovers opened the season with two defeats. For example, Peter Whittingham, a player with Championship quality and Premier League experience, has not been up to the standard expected of him. Derrick Williams also needs to get back to the level which saw him crowned last year's Player of the Season.

Promotion is still the aim, but we may need a trip to Wembley in order to secure it. It is a long season so there is still plenty of time for Rovers to mount a serious challenge on the automatic promotion spots. But based on the current form, a place in the top six is the best we can hope for.

Perhaps this inconsistency is partly due to the ever-changing line-up, particularly in forward areas. One or two strikers need to nail down a starting role, so they can put a run of goals together. Joe Nuttall could well be the man to do so.
