We asked our fans' jury: “Do you want to see Tony Mowbray stay on as Blackburn Rovers head coach?”

IF HE is very brave, or perhaps foolish, and decides to stay I would be reasonably happy for him to continue.

He appears level headed and seems to have managed to get the best out of the players under his charge.

However his task is now immense, having to rebuild a successful team in order to stabilise the club.

Unfortunately the owners appear to have learnt nothing from their past mistakes so he will continue to be hampered by confusion and disorder.

The business culture of the Venky's is a great obstacle to any significant progress.

MOWBRAY is definitely the right man to guide us through League 1. He has recent experience in the division, albeit an unsuccessful stint as Coventry City boss.

But the way he has galvanised the group speaks volumes for the job he has done at Rovers. He took the same squad that Owen Coyle had, without the added bonus of two transfer windows, and brought it right down to the last day of the season.

If Mowbray had been in the hot seat all season, Rovers would have retained their Championship status. His record at the club is far better than Coyle’s.

Mowbray took 22 points from his 15 games in charge, compared to Coyle’s 29 points. He almost collected the same amount of points, despite 16 fewer games.

Mowbray's post-match interview comments suggest he might leave. Paul Senior, who brought him to the club, has resigned from his post in the wake of relegation and Mowbray could be next to walk away. You couldn’t really blame him while the club is governed by the Venky’s.

Next season can be successful if the right decisions are made this summer. Keeping hold of Mowbray, combined with smart player recruitment, would give Rovers every chance of bouncing back up at the first attempt.

All the fans want him to stay, and I am sure the players do too.
