TOM Cairney has urged Blackburn Rovers to get over the fatigue of Wednesday’s FA Cup clash with Liverpool and secure victory at Reading this afternoon.

Cairney admits that Rovers’ quarter final replay was an exhausting encounter and that they will have to dig deep at the Madejski Stadium.

“It’s hard to get over what happened on Wednesday but we need to get it out of our system and move on to finishing strong,” he said.

“Reading will not be easy and I think the boys will be tired, especially after Wednesday. It will take a big effort.

“It might take us a while to get going but we’ve got to go down there and try to win.”

Cairney admitted he was heartbroken to miss out on the chance of playing at Wembley in the FA Cup semi finals.

“We dreamed of getting to Wembley, it didn’t happen and everyone was devastated,” he said.

“But it has made us hungry to get to Wembley in the future.”
