ON a day when the weather was at its worst, Padiham and Farsley served up an Evo-Stik First Division North fixture that was high in entertainment.

The match was played in heavy rain, gale force winds and thunder and lightning, with Farsley going ahead in the 22nd minute when Robbie O’Brien turned in.

The Storks drew level seven minutes before half time after a Kieron Pickup free kick found Ben Allen who scored from close range. Padiham missed a great chance to go ahead on hour mark after Dominic Craig was brought down in box, but Allen blasted the penalty over the crossbar.

At other end Padiham keeper Ben Proctor ensured Farsley were kept at bay with a double save with 20 minutes to go. Allen had another chance to win it when he rounded the keeper on 83 minutes but somehow rolled his shot wide.

At the other end Farsley’s Lee Ellington made no mistake to score the winner with three minutes left.
