‘BUZZING’ Chorley travel to the North Yorkshire coast today to take on Evo-Stik League Premier Division rivals Whitby Town in the FA Trophy first qualifying round.

And Garry Flitcroft’s side will make the trip with confidence high after they won 1-0 at Nantwich Town in the league on Tuesday – despite playing most of the match with 10 men after Dale Whitham was sent off.

Chorley boss Flitcroft said: “I was really proud of the lads after going down to 10 men so early.

“The lads were buzzing in the dressing room. They knew it was a really big victory for us.

“We’ve got to go up there (to Whitby) and put a performance in.

“There’s a real belief in that dressing room that they can go out and win every game – and tomorrow will be the same.”

Ramsbottom United are also in FA Trophy action, at home to higher-division Worksop Town.

The tie is the first time the sides have met.

Ramsbottom won 3-1 at home to Atherton LR in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy first round on Wednesday with goals from Callum Smith (2) and Thomas Brooks.

Padiham are away to Harrogate Railway Athletic in the Evo-Stik First Division North tomorrow while Clitheroe are without a game.
