BARNOLDSWICK Town twice came from behind to beat Winsford United and the weather as Kieran Lee cracked a second half hat-trick in a thrilling 5-3 victory.

The match was in danger of falling foul of the weather as a torrential downpour and hail stone storm just before kick-off nearly saw the game postponed.

And it was Town who were caught cold as Winsford took a second-minute lead through Michael Jones.

Paul Fildes levelled for Barlick in the 13th minute before Dominic Marie restored the home side’s advantage.

Lee scored his first in the 50th minute and Town took the lead for the first time when Lee made it 3-2 in the 69th minute – only for Marie to level with 15 minutes to go.

But they were only on level terms for a minute as Aaron Hollindrake put Barlick ahead and Lee completed his hat-trick with 10 minutes remaining.

Bacup and Rossendale Borough paid the price for missed chances as they conceded two goals in each half in a 4-0 defeat at AFC Liverpool.

Ryan Cox gave the home side a fourth minute lead but Bacup created more than enough chances to level with Jack Alderson, Daniel Cox and Lee Oldham all wasting chances before Ronnie Morgan made it 2-0 just before the break.

It was a similar story after the break, Bacup continuing to waste chances while Liverpool converted theirs, Shaun Harris and Robert Lamont completing the scoring.

Despite the best efforts of groundsman, Richard Harries, Colne’s clash with Norton United was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

AFC Darwen’s home clash with Widnes Vikings also fell foul to the weather in NWCL Division One but two goals from Richie Allen saw Nelson win 2-0 at Irlam.
