PADIHAM’S North West Counties League Premier Division title push begins its final four legs tomorrow with a testing trip to championship rivals Maine Road.

The Storks have hit top spot at seemingly the right time in the season following back-to-back wins but play all their remaining four fixtures on the road – including taking on the three sides immediately below them.

After the trip to Maine Road, Padiham must also journey to Bootle and face Runcorn Town on the final day with Steve Wilkes’ side still unbeaten on the road this season.

Elsewhere, Colne travel to Norton United and Barnoldswick are away at Glossop North End.

Barlick begin the day six points adrift of Colne and can still catch their near neighbours with both teams safe in the upper reaches of mid-table.

Bacup Borough, who have a number of games in hand, are away at Alsager Town.

Brent Peters’ side were in action last night and head into tomorrow’s clash with 10 games still to play.

In the North West Counties League Division One, fifth-placed AFC Darwen host Irlam while Nelson entertain Chadderton.

Meanwhile, Chorley host Ashton Athletic knowing that nothing less than three points will do as they bid to make the Evo Stik League Premier Division play-offs.

Garry Flitcroft’s side have enjoyed a recent resurgence in form prior to last weekend’s defeat to Worksop, but the Magpies are six points behind the top five with four games remaining.

And with a number of sides above them having games in hand it will be tall order for Chorley to gatecrash the play-off party.

In the Evo Stik League Division One North, Ramsbottom and Clitheroe are both on the road as they seek to maintain promotion pushes.

The Rams have a vital clash with fellow play-off hopefuls Mossley while the Blues make the trip to Curzon Ashton.

Ramsbottom begin the day in the final play-off place but will leapfrog tomorrow’s opponents if they can take three points.

Clitheroe are two points further back having played a game more and a win for them would all but end Curzon Ashton’s chances of reaching the top five.
