CLITHEROE returned to winning ways after holding off a fightback from Burscough.
An early goal from Blackburn Rovers loanee Jordan Preston and another from Daniel Wilkins just before the break put Simon Garner’s side in control.
But Burscough hit back after the break. First Liam Caddick pulled one back in the 51st minute before Edward Toner levelled in the 68th.
However, Clitheroe on a run of one win in the last seven outings, regained the lead through Oliver McLean before Sam Heap’s strike three minutes from time sealed victory.
Clitheroe have now won two of their last three games and sees them remain in 12th place in Evo-Stik League First Division North.
The victory also completed the double over Burscough.
