BURNLEY extended their unbeaten league run to 16 games in dramatic fashion at the Amex Stadium.

Dale Stephens and Anthony Knockaert twice put Albion ahead, but Andre Gray levelled in the first half before Michael Keane slammed home an injury time header that could prove crucial in the promotion race.

After a quiet opening Albion took the lead on the half hour. A corner from the left resulted in Connor Goldson’s shot being deflected wide, and from the resulting corner on the right Knockaert’s delivery flicked off the head of David Jones and Stephens stole in at the back post to turn it home.

But the Clarets were level immediately. Again it came from a corner. Sam Vokes headed Jones’ delivery goalwards and Stephen Ward teed it up for Gray to fire home from six yards out.

Albion’s lead was restored on the stroke of half time. Beram Kayal won the ball on the edge of Brighton’s box and set Jamie Murphy away on the counter. He found Knockaert, who twisted Ward inside and out before leaving him on the floor and firing home with his right foot.

Michael Keane looked to have equalised for Burnley with two minutes to go, but the officials deemed his header had not crossed the line when it was around a yard over.

But justice was done in stoppage time as Keane met another Matty Taylor corner and powered his header into the back of the net.
