SEAN Dyche admitted his side had made 'mistakes' after they saw an early two-goal lead slip away as they crashed out of the FA Cup.

Goals from Marvin Sordell and Ross Wallace saw Burnley lead 2-0 inside the first seven minutes at White Hart Lane.

But goals from Paulinho and Etinne Capoue saw Tottenham level at half-time, and then Vlad Chiriches and Danny Rose scored early in the second half to send Spurs through to a fourth round tie at home to Leicester.

But Dyche rued the defensive mistakes made to allow the hosts to go in level at the break, with Roberto Soldado and Paulinho given space inside the area for the first goal.

"They’re a good side and even when they make changes they are still a good side," Dyche said.

"What I would say is that when you’re 2-0 up and make the mistakes we made it’s going to be very tough, because that’s what is from our point of view. It’s a game of mistakes.

"In the first half for the first two goals, you can’t get away with that at this level, so that was the main disappointment for me.

"I was a little bit cross at half time with a couple of mistakes."

Dyche also felt that the corner given that saw Chiriches nod in at the back post for the third goal shouldn't have been given, although he admitted he hadn't seen a replay of the incident.

He said: "When you see their team running the wrong way as if it's a goal kick and then it gets given a corner and they're surprised that is usually a sign that it's not what it ended up being, and then they scored from that."
