Danny Ings is going nowhere says Burnley boss Sean Dyche
BURNLEY boss Sean Dyche says he is refusing to read anything into January transfer speculation about Danny Ings, after watching his star striker take his club tally to 21.
The Clarets top scorer continued his fine form with a stunning 25-yard strike to pave the way for a 2-1 win over struggling Yeovil Town on Saturday.
England Under 21 international Ings has been linked with an increasing number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, through his red-hot form.
But it is understood the striker has indicated his intention to stay, at least until the end of the season. And Dyche is confident of keeping him.
“It’s been an ongoing thing ever since it came to the club to be honest,” said the Burnley boss when asked about Ings speculation.
“It’s a natural occurrence when players are doing well at any club at any level there’s always someone who’s looking around. I’m not worried about that.
“It’s good there are people interested in our players. I don’t envisage him leaving, I’ve certainly got no reason to think that will happen – certainly not in January. Who knows in the future. But every player eventually has their price.”
Dyche added: “He’s a Burnley player, he’s enjoying his football, I think he’s still learning.
“That’s the relevant point about what Danny’s doing, playing with a smile, playing with freedom, enjoying it and scoring goals.
“He’s in a great place so were happy with it.”
