Lancashire Telegraph gives Burnley air support

A LANCASHIRE Telegraph banner wishing Burnley good luck was last night flown over Turf Moor.

Pilot Alan Elliot, of Aerial Ads, was born in Manchester and is usually a supporter of last night’s visitors to Burnley.

But despite his Red Devils allegiances, it was the Clarets’ cause he was thinking about. Alan, 61, who set up his company last year with 25 years’ flying experience, said: “I would like to see Burnley do well this year.

“Then hopefully they will think the banner is a good luck charm and we will get a bit more work.”

Last night, thousands of fans in Burnley town centre before kick-off saw Alan’s plane and the banner saying: “Go Clarets – Lancashire Telegraph’.

Alan had taken off from Blackpool Airport at around 5.30pm in order to get over Burnley for 6.15pm.

Then after an hour floating over East Lancashire, he returned to Blackpool to come back down to earth. And after a year of putting flying banners through the air, Alan said Aerial Ads has proved a big success.

He said: “We have done quite a lot of football matches, simply because of the large attendances.

“It is all about getting the message across to as many people as possible.”

Hope it doesnt crash into Turd Moor....I can just see the scene as the directors rush to try and salvage all their cups from the wreckage - thats if it hits the canteen and not the trophy room (which as we all know is very bare)!
Enjoy your one and only season in the prem....

Good to see the LET nailing it's colours to the mast (or the banner in this case). Will Plunkett and Simpson be flying it?

Hope they don't try any of the old "parachutist stuck on roof" tactics to delay the inevitable.

Breaking News A bloke was spotted around Burnley today selling the popular new deluded drug!
.
Apparently it was smuggled in by a combination of Aeroplanes, blimps and parachutes!
.
You will meet the masters on Oct 18th!
.

Never mind deluded Morst, what i want to know is how/why have Rovers fans managed to buy tickets to Man Utd's smallest match of the season. It surely can't be a struggle to fill that place. As for the LET,when do you reckon they'll be shelling out for our plane?

I'm another Rovers fan through and through but the only reason I'd want to see Burnley relegated is if it kept us up!
.
What is the point of having local rivalry if we are in different Divisions??

.
After seeing Hull, Birmingham and Portsmouth last night, I don't see any reason why Burnley should finish in the bottom 3 - get points now (as Hull did last season) and strengthen squad in January!

.
All we need then is Preston to follow the lead and strike a blow for proper town Football teams.

.
Let's be honest, do any of us want to see the 'Big 4 & a half' (inc Man City) dominate for the next 20 years!

Hawaii 0-5. A great idea has to have longevity. Staying down forever was wrong. No prizes for being wrong whether it’s a first or a last. Meaningless drivel remains meaningless drivel. If you want to take credit for meaningless drivel you have to line up behind a host of other MUPPETS. They know all about drivel.
