Rovers: No statement today on Kean's future
10:26am Monday 24th September 2012 in News
Exclusive By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
Steve Kean
BLACKBURN Rovers will not be releasing a statement on Steve Kean's future today - as his managerial position continues to hang in the balance.
As revealed in the Lancashire Telegraph this morning, lengthy talks have been held by the owners over Kean's future with a decision to replace him understood to be all-but made.
Rovers have this morning declined to comment other than to say there will be no statement today, with negotiations expected to continue.

Maybe if we had done this in the summer there would have been a little more choice.
However ...... I dont suppose they are going to want to pay out big compensation to another club to get a good proven manager at this level..
Olly at Blackpool would be my choice.... great football on a tiny budget and the sort of character that might pull the club together.

One of the option mentioned is Tim Sherwood. I know from a Spurs friend of mine who is in the know at Tottenham says he is very ambitious. He wants too prove himself at a club. He has done a great job win developing young players at Tottenham with likes of Caulker, Livermore, Townsend all growing under his leadership. Thats why he wasnt sacked along with Harry.
I know some of us wants a experienced manager. But to me he is extremely ambitious and he was a ex-BRFC title player who played nearly 250 games for us. He KNOWS us and he IS us and he has learned his trade in one of the most professional coaching setup working with some
world class players.
Give the job to Sherwood...

Publicity is the only name of their game , so far nothing has changed.
It's clear from a lot of posts on here that many are jumping the gun and imagining life without the unsackable tirant, and even suggesting what these publicity seekers will do for the love of football.
It hasn't happened up to now, so why should they start ?
When fans pay and watch, whatever they shout is just classed as burley banter, sticks and stones etc, so
the only yardstick they have to see customer's dissatisfaction is an embarrassingly empty Stadium.

Kean is still here and even when / If he goes, do you really expect Venkys to employ a expierenced top class manager. Not a chance people. The job would be offered to Black / Hendry to the end of the season, with a ' Chance To Prove Themselves '
At best it would be someone like Tim Sherwood or Flitcroft.

One of the reasons some Rovers fans hated Kean from the start was because he was not viewed as a "proper" manager........
Well now's your chance to get a "proper" manager......Steve Bruce, Mick McCarthy and Roy Keane are all unemployed and have a fine record of relegation and under achievement - but hey they are "proper" managers lets fill our boots. Idiots.
Oh Sherwood mmmm he's not a "proper" manager yet have you forgotten how he sold us out under Hodgson?! Short memories. And he's "just" a coach, even Kean has a better reputation as a coach. And Wilkins?!!! Please.
Harry Redknapp.......hmmmm lets run this one past the common sense police.....he took his eye off the ball because he was in the running for the England job? Or was it actually because he was really holding out for Rovers? Plus the fact that he refuses to move from his millionaires row pad in Dorset, so I can see that really working.
Apparently Bill Shankly, Herbert Chapman and Bob Paisley would love the chance.......
Back in the real world...Flitcroft would be interesting but one hell of a punt, Holloway must have had tons of offers and realistically is he all that good? His teams can rarely defend either!

And same goes true for othr big name managers- some mentioning Benetez & Harry. Their salary demands cannt be kept even if they somehow decide to come to BRFC.
Best option is Mccarthy but he has too much self respect to join us. I see our list of available managers who are experienced are very thin.
That is why I dont mind us going for Sherwood. I am a realist, knowing Venkys how they are they will never appoint anyoe big time.
Also I see them appointing a man who is ex-Blackburn player or manager just to get the fan on their side. He is good enough but problem is some of us wont like his signing being inexperienced. Its a understandable concern. If there was more suitable canidate AND willing to join us, I welcome whoever it is open hands, But if not, I dont mind seeing a ex-BRFC player taking over the reigns.

The good news is hopefully the club will act now and sack Kean once and for all....it is the ONLY decision that can be made for the good of the club overall. This would then unify the support once more....I just hope this is the end to the rift and the protesters draw a line under it and back Venkys (who have re-invested in the club recently) and the new manager because we need all the supporters acting as one to get what we all want promotion back to the Premier League because watching the football we have seen so far this season, the quality is miles apart from what we have seen in the Premiership.

My understanding is that Venkys don't have authority to sack Kean because they delegated "footballing matters" to SEM/Kentaro and their operative Kean. Therefore, in order to ditch Kean completely they need to dissolve the contractual relationship with the gnomes. Kean probably also has to refuse the job of pooper-scooping the kids' pitches in Pune first.

The downside for the fans is it could be a couple if months away before Big Sam gets hold of kean in the courts.I like many do wonder what hold Kean has down at Ewood because they have several good reasons to get rid but the owners don't, it will all come out in the wash soon I expect!

It is the purchases Kean has been able to make since theyve released funds that have got us into the position we are now. I am a season ticket holder and am throroughlly enjoying this season so far. The results are good (until this weekend) and the football is even better. Perhaps if all the moaners at the groud cheered we woud be able to contend against the likes of Blackpool

Doncaster Rovers had a similar deal with Willie Mckay who seems to have walked away when they were relegated.

SK: OK if you must, but my global advice is to sack Shebby cos I don't like him.
Mrs D: What if I make Balaji manager?
SK: OK, and I'll advise him, sounds perfect.
SS: No, I'm global adviser, I'll advise him.
SK: Look, I know best, make Black the manager, I'll be first team coach and pick the team, the fans will all come back and we'll be playing in Europe before you know it.
SS: Look Mrs D, I like a challenge. I've done well as global advisor, so make me manager, Balaji can coach and make Kean Director of Football.
Mrs D: What if I make Balaji, Shebby and Eric Black all joint managers? 3 heads are better than 1. And with Kean coaching and advising, it's win-win all round!
SK: No way! I don't like Shebby bossing me.
Tomorrow's Statement:
Mrs D: Steve Kean has graciously stepped down as Rovers Manager. As he is Rovers through and through and will do anything to help his beloved club and fans we have made him Director of Football. Shebby Singh has done a wonderful job as Global Advisor and so we are rewarding him with the manager's job. He knows football inside out, has vast experience and is always up for a new challenge. He will work alongside Balaji who will be joint manager and who knows more about football than anybody else in India that we know of. Shebby and Eric Black will work closely together at Ewood, whilst Balaji will work closely with Stevie W_n_er via Skype, mobile phone and email as we bring the latest technological advances to Rovers making us certainties for promotion.

However, they're happy to overlook instances like Portsmouth and Rovers which affects thousands of fans who hold the respective clubs close to their hearts.
Ok now will everyone believe me, how difficult it is to get rid of this imbecilic
scottish W****R. I have said all along that the FA needs to hold an official inquiry into the running of BRFC, but I somehow don't think it will happen. They have bigger fish to fry like trying to make an example of John Terry.
When they do get rid HRH Kean and I say with tongue in cheek WHEN.
I hope they have the balls to go for somebody like Olly from Blackpool.
He has done tremendous work for Blackpool, a great charachter and well respected in Football circles . Here's hoping!
Fact is if it was a Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. who were involved in a similar situation the FA would nip it in the bud at the start as these clubs are too much of an asset to the premier league to allow their rapid demise but small town clubs like Rovers & Portsmouth unfortnately aren't high up on the agenda...it's things like that which make people fall out of love with football.

If there is going to be a statement tomorrow then this can only be a good thing. I cannot image what else could be announced, other than Kean is going or has signed a new deal. However, has it actually been confirmed there will be a statement? All I have heard is that Shebby Singh will be available to speak tomorrow. This could be about anything, not necessarily the managerial situation.
The parallels between now and the summer are remarkable. Gossip about Venky's discussing his position and him being on the verge of the sack give thousands false hope. I expect him to still be manager for at least the next two games. Things will get really interesting if we lose at Charlton & Forest. Shebby's '3 games' will be reached and if Kean didn't go after that then I think we would all know that Kean is involved higher up than appears and that Shebby would have to resign.

If the contractual rumour about SEM was correct, how did Shebby select and sign 3 players?
Sherwood is ambitious and knowledgeable and was a good club captain who proudly held aloft the Premier League trophy at Anfield. 250 games for the club and a fantastic link to the Jack Walker dream, he and Dalglish could make a good pairing too with Black also retained.

Please note a football club is not a business in the conventional sense. You own the shares, you own the company. But we, the fans, are the beating heart of Blackburn Rovers. Without us, the supporters, what is the club? It is time to end this war between you as owners and us as fans. In Kean you made a mistake. Admit it. Correct it. We will forgive you. Together we can restore order to Ewood Park and make it the castle BRFC deserves.

Kean has too much vested business interest in the club and Venkys for them to be able to dislodge him very easily - he'll be a poisonous influence in the backroom staff for another manager, and too much conflict with Shebby to move him upstairs. So where does he go? He's rooted quite deeply so unless a lot of cash is directed his way, he won't be going anywhere. I guess this is what is being discussed behind the scenes.

Well in India that would mean:
In the Indian society people who worked in ignominious, polluting and unclean occupations were seen as polluting peoples and were therefore considered as untouchables.
The untouchables had almost no rights in the society. In different parts of India they were treated in different ways. In some regions the attitude towards the untouchables was harsh and strict. In other regions it was less strict.
In regions where the attitude was less strict the untouchables were seen as polluting people and their dwellings were at a distance from the settlements of the four Varna communities.
The untouchables were not allowed to touch people from the four Varnas. They were not allowed to enter houses of the higher Varnas. They were not allowed to enter the temples. They were not allowed to use the same wells used by the Varnas. In public occasions they were compelled to sit at a distance from the four Varnas.
In regions where the attitude towards the untouchables were more severe, not only touching them was seen polluting, but also even a contact with their shadow was seen as polluting.
If, because of any reason, there was a contact between an untouchable and a member of the Varnas, the Varna member became defiled and had to immerse or wash himself with water to be purified. In strict societies, especially among the 'Twice Born' (the three top Varnas) the touched 'Twice Born' also had to pass through some religious ceremonies to purify himself from the pollution.
If the untouchable entered a house and touched things of a Varna member, the Varna members used to wash or clean the places where the untouchable touched and stepped.
In some incidences the untouchables who associated with the Varna members were beaten and even murdered for that reason. Some higher hierarchy Jats also had servants whose job was to go or walk before the high Jats members and announce their coming to the streets and to see to it that the streets would be clear of untouchable people.

Just in case I know they are not American Indians, but the message is clear, if Kean is not removed out of the club, not sideways, why not ALL supporters stay away in protest or as many as possible lets have a gate of less than 5000,they have admitted that low gates are a concern,so lets give it to them just once to show what we can achieve when united.
Com on we can beat Kean and his gang, lets do it together.

Huddersfield, a solid unit all the way through the team from keeper to Striker, Rovers top heavy up front then F*all in midfield and defence.
Rhodes is plain and simple a greedy little boy who wants to eat more sweets than his tummy can handle, the premiership glory days are over and teams like Huddersfield are not only on a par with Blackburn but have overtaken them. It's going to be a fantastic battle for the championship this season but one thing's for sure, Rhodes will be sat there at the end thinking why he chose to make the greedy move over football glory.
Hope you have a sleepless night

If the owners decide Kean has a stay of execution then its 100% apparent that we as fans have no relevance to this club any longer & the only way we can rid ourselves of this crooks is by staying away. Its pains me to say that as over the past few weeks I have advocated supporting the team but after this latest 'smokescreen' its vital something drastic is done.
Kean in my opinion has a hold over the club... whether it be he has a % in the stake of the club or whther its something to do with J.A and his agency (I thinks its the latter). However, there is a reason that Kean is almost 'untouchable'.
I do not like to see any manager sacked however surely it has to be time to relieve the club of this fool... I mean he's bled us dry for the past 2 years picking up his 1million a year salary.. surely he has saved enough for a poolside villa in the Algarve because let's face it he will never get another job in football!!
I feel very despondant!!!

That means we will miss out on taking Keith Hill as a possible replacement.
Hill is demanding talks with his board at Barnsley this week about his position at the club. There is an Italian consortium about to buy the club and they are rumoured to want to bring their own management team in. That would have been perfect timing for us. Black could keep it going until Hill was free.
The situation has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous now, the Venkys and Kean yet again make us the laughing stock of the league. The team had better win at Charlton at weekend to dispel some of the gloom and doom that surrounds (nay engulfs) the club today.

How about all stay away fans and all attending fans turning up for one game to show Vemky's what could happen. All people wanting Kean out could wear a yellow shirt and support the team through a full game without mentioning the bald headed one. Making it clear that this would be the last game they would ever attend while the nob head was still at Ewood and then sticking to this would show the lost revenue if nothing changes. If the atmosphere was brilliant it would also show the players what they are missing and should show even the most inept owners that this circus needs closing down.
I know some fans will say they have already made a statement by staying away and others will say they have made a statement by protesting vocally at the matches but these are negative protests and really dont prove much different to what was happening two seasons ago. If Kean was sacked then what would the attendances be and what would the atmosphere be like? I dont know and neither do Venky's so why not swallow your pride for one game and show them?

Kean is untouchable, otherwise he would of gone , im willing to bet that he and his team will still hold a prominent position in the club or be paid an exorbitant amount off money, that venkies can't afford
I don't know of any other manager who has such power in a club, it's as if to say he is part of the deal that venkies had to deal with when they bought the club in the first place

Kean is KING, He will continue as a Blackburn Manager for the full season. If we promoted, he get sacked, We get a new manager for the top fight.
This is the decision taken by Venky.

I guarantee you that right this minute Steve Kean is laughing at all of you.
He is busy downing can after can of special brew and dancing round his bedroom with Margaret singing "I will survive", his naked body smeared head to toe in barbeque sauce.
Don't ever doubt this is true. It is.

You'll go BACKWARDS with him in charge, if that is even possible.
And what's this notion that you'll start getting 20000 if Kean gets fired. don't make me laugh.
All you bul1sh1tters giving it "I've supported this club for 35 years" yeah yeah you're just a bunch of fair weather fans and you know it!”
