ACCRINGTON Stanley are still hopeful that Kenny Arthur may return to the club this summer as they wait for a decision from the goalkeeper.

Arthur was a key figure in two seasons at Stanley before joining Rochdale last summer because of concerns over the financial uncertainty at the Crown Ground at the time.

But the 31-year-old has been transfer listed at Spotland after he failed to regain his place following injury, and the Reds have opened talks with Arthur about a potential deal.

The Scot is now considering his options, with relegated Grimsby among the clubs interested.

“Kenny is thinking it over,” said Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell.
