ACCRINGTON Stanley look set to lose star striker Bobby Grant to Championship club Scunthorpe – but the Reds hope for at least £250,000 for the 19-year-old.
Grant had indicated he would sign a new deal at Stanley, with his current contract set to expire this summer, but was last night instead due to have a medical with Scunthorpe.
The Iron have had a bid turned down by Stanley but the Bosman ruling means the fee could be decided by tribunal because Grant is under 24.
Reds chief executive Rob Heys, who hopes that Scunthorpe might pull out if a fee is beyond their reach, said: “We would be disappointed if we got less than £250,000. Scunthorpe offered a million miles below that.”
