STANLEY striker Billy Kee admits the Reds must become clinical if they are to have any chance of reviving their flagging play-off hopes.
The Northern Ireland Under 21 international, on loan at the Crown Ground from Leicester, marked a rare start by scoring during Stanley’s Tuesday night draw with Macclesfield.
But he says the point from that Crown Ground meeting with lowly Macc was not enough – and knows that he and his team-mates must shoulder the blame for the draw which felt like a loss.
“We could have put the game out of sight,” said Kee. “We could have been four or five up if we had taken our chances and then Macclesfield would have had no way back.
“It was frustrating and we are doing it too often. We are not killing games off.”
But three games in hand give Kee a ray of hope that Stanley’s once promising season will not peter out despite a haul of just eight points since January.
“We are still in a great position to be honest,” added Kee.
“We are still there and thereabouts but we know we have to turn our form around and quickly if we are to kick on.
“We have to keep on working hard on the training pitch and keep on concentrating and then take that into games.
“Tuesday night’s draw felt like a loss really and to avoid that we must start taking our chances when they come along.”
