BEING linked with Bradford this week has not been distracting for myself or John Coleman, but we do need to get our new contracts sorted out here.

There has been no direct contract with Bradford but there have been links, and John will get linked with jobs because of how well we have done at Accrington.

It’s nice to be linked because Bradford are a very big club. They are a bigger club than Accrington.

We have spoken a bit more about the possibility of new deals here because we’re still operating with a verbal contract, but we’re waiting for the club to come back to us. It’s dragging on a bit now.

Myself and John are 100 per cent committed to Accrington but with the team doing well you don’t know what offers will come.

We’re still negotiating with Bobby Grant and Michael Symes about their new contracts, and the transfer embargo being lifted has allowed us to sign Alan Burton back from Marine. We probably won’t be signing any more at the moment, but who knows?

We are trying to forget our 4-0 defeat at Northampton on Tuesday.

My mother could have played in goal for them.

We had 25 shots when we beat Morecambe on Saturday but we had nothing at all on target at Northampton.

That’s seven they’ve put past us without reply in our two games this season. If we finish above them we’ll be in the play-offs.

Far too many players had off nights, people who have been consistent all season.

I don’t think the players got up for the game. Our last nine or 10 games have been big games – against Notts County, Gillingham, Fulham and Morecambe – and our players just thought they could turn up this time.

We spoke about it after the game and they told us it was just a one-off. It needs to be.

John Mullin played 90 minutes for the first time in a long time for the reserves yesterday and Chris Turner played too. He’s struggling with fitness and is a long way behind.

Rommy Boco also played for us and there’s always a possibility he might come back, but it’s not something we’ve really spoken about.
