ACCRINGTON Stanley have rejected an offer from Macclesfield Town for midfielder Andy Procter.
During the past seven days fellow League Two clubs Rochdale and Macclesfield have both shown an interest in the 25-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Dale instead decided to sign Leicester midfielder Nicky Adams on loan but Macclesfield approached Stanley with what is understood to have been a five-figure fee. That was rejected and it is now unclear whether the Moss Rose club will return with another offer.
“Rochdale’s interest has cooled,” revealed Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell.
“We’ve had another club showing interest but their valuation is a long way short of ours. We would want a lot more than what they offered.”
