ACCRINGTON Stanley have slashed season ticket prices by £63 in a bid to increase crowds at the Store First Stadium.

Stanley have seen their average attendance drop by nine per cent to 1,619 this term – the lowest in the Football League.

The Reds are battling against relegation but are optimistic of survival, having picked up 10 points from their last five games, and are keen to attract fans back to the club for the 2013/14 campaign.

Adult tickets for anywhere in the ground will cost £192 – less than £8.50 per match – before the early bird deadline on April 27, down from £255 a year ago.

Over 65 tickets will cost £136 and any adult or over 65 purchasing before the early bird cut-off can also claim an under 12s season ticket for free.

Otherwise, under 12s tickets cost £20, while students and under 17s can purchase season tickets for £80.

After the early bird deadline, adult season tickets will cost £216 and over 65 tickets will cost £144.

Regular matchday admission prices have been reduced to £13 for adults, with over 65s £8, students £5 and under 12s £1.

The club are also offering a ‘flexi-ticket’, for any 10 league games, for £100.

“We want as many people as possible to be able to come and watch us but we have to accept that these are tough economic times,” said managing director Rob Heys.

“Hopefully by making these reductions we are helping to make sure that cost isn’t a barrier to people who want to come along to the Store First Stadium.

“This is a gesture to the people of Accrington and the surrounding area and we’d like to think it would encourage more through the turnstiles.

“Also with so many other clubs locally we want to get back to being everyone’s second club too.”
