CROWN Paints has yet to decide if it will renew its sponsorship deal with Blackburn Rovers.
The 200-year-old Darwen firm has had its name on the front of Rovers’ shirts since the start of the 2008/09 season, with the deal running out in May.
However, bosses said they had not made up their minds on whether to renew, while Rovers said the decision was down to Crown.
A Crown Paints spokesman confirmed a decision had not yet been taken.
She said: “We actively engage and support our local community and the shirt sponsorship is something we value.”
A Blackburn Rovers spokesman said it was “unlikely” the name of new owner Venky’s could appear on shirts next season if Crown chooses not to renew.
He said: “There are six months to go and it is totally Crown’s decision.”
Crown employs 500 people at its base in Hollins Road.
