THE wife of former Burnley FC manager Stan Ternent has died.
Mr Ternent, who managed the Clarets between 1998 and 2004, and Kath had been married for around 50 years.
The club's official Twitter account said on Monday evening: "Burnley Football Club is sad to learn of the passing of Kath Ternent, the wife of former manager Stan Ternent
"All our thoughts are with Stan, Chris, Dan and family and friends."
Dozens of fans paid tribute on club message boards. One said: "We wouldn't be where we are now without Stan, and he would not have done it without the unfailing support of his wife Kath.
"So we all owe Kath a great deal. Sorry to hear of her untimely passing, thoughts and prayers with the whole extended family at this time."
