STEVEN Defour is set to miss a couple of months of action as he requires surgery on a knee problem.

The Burnley midfielder saw a specialist last week after complaining of a persistent problem in his knee and he now requires an operation.

That will sideline the 29-year-old for at least a couple of months and could see him out for the rest of the season.

The injury may also put Defour's hopes of being part of Belgium's World Cup squad in jeopardy.
