FIT-AGAIN Chorley goalkeeper Sam Ashton has joined Evo-Stik North side Kendal Town on loan.
The stopper missed the entire 2016-17 season with a serious leg injury and recently made his return for the Magpies in a development game.
The 31-year-old has now moved to the Mintcakes for regular first team football and to build up his fitness with Fleetwood loanee Matty Urwin currently first choice for Matt Jansen's side.
Ashton made his debut for Kendal in a 1-1 draw with South Shields on Boxing Day.
Meanwhile, midfielder Ian Black has been released by Chorley following a short stint at Victory Park.
