BURNLEY will aim to end their pre-season unbeaten tomorrow as they welcome Bundesliga new boys Hannover to Turf Moor.

The Clarets' 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo on Tuesday was the first match of a European double header for Sean Dyche's side this week.

And while the Turf chief had a good idea what to expect from the La Liga outfit, having faced them in pre-season in 2014, he is less certain of what André Breitenreiter's side will bring tomorrow (3pm).

But Dyche and Burnley will be keen to end pre-season on a high having so far gone unbeaten in their six fixtures.

"Hannover’s a little bit more unknown because they came up last season," Dyche said of the German side who finished second in Bundesliga 2 last term.

"(Celta Vigo) we played a couple of years ago and it’s unusual for a Spanish team to radically change, they’re usually all playing and passing and we wanted that specifically, so I was pleased with that.

"Preston was a local game and we knew there’d be working (hard), Forest I know Warbo (Mark Warburton) and I like the way they go about it.

"We’ve tried to choose a mixture of games that might give us a little feel of what the opposition might offer whilst also focusing on what we can offer."

Although Hannover are an unknown quantity they are likely to be keen on possession as well, although perhaps not to the extent that Celta were.

The fixtures against the Galicians saw both sides enjoy spells on the ball, but Dyche is happy to see his side carry a direct threat as well when required.

"The challenge is that if you’re going to retain the ball you’ve still got to penetrate," the Clarets chief said.

"So can you penetrate by retaining the ball or do you need to play a bit more straightforward? Or can you penetrate with crosses or set-pieces?

"I always design a team that I think will penetrate the opposition and do the opposite our way, defend well, I don’t overthink the tactics, it’s what the team needs and how they can go and unlock the opposition.

"I thought the first 65 minutes they did a good job, that doesn’t guarantee they will another day. Scond half at Forest we changed and did a good job in the second half.

"That’s why it might be more flexible this season, we’ll have to wait and see how the games pan out, but it might be we look at it more flexibility because we’ve got slightly different players.

"Whether it’s passing, not passing, defending, attacking, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to win a game and I’ve always been quite pragmatic in my view on that."

Hannover have been cramming the friendlies in since July 2 but they have faced amateur opposition in Germany at times, racking up 10-0 and 14-0 wins.

They also have goalless draws with FC Twente and Austrian side Wolfsberger, as well as a 1-1 draw with Serie A side Udinese.
