ROVERS striker Danny Graham was delighted to get his goalscoring boots back on as he netted the winner in the pre-season friendly win over Barrow.

Graham volleyed home a Bradley Dack nod-down as the pair combined to give Tony Mowbray’s men a 2-1 win last weekend.

They will face a step up in opposition when they take on Sparta Prague on Friday (3pm) as Rovers continue their pre-season preparations out in Austria.

They will spend a full week out in Salzburg, taking in the one friendly, before continuing the build-up for the League One opener at Southend on August 5 at their Brockhall base.

“We had a great ten days of hard work leading up to it but it is always nice to get that match sharpness which is vitally important to everyone,” Graham said.

“You can do all the running you want in pre-season but we always find the games the toughest ones.

“So it was a tough test, they were big physical boys and they were quite fit themselves as well, everyone got 45 minutes which was good.

“It was a good test, everyone has come out of it doing well, and of course it was nice to get a goal.

“Hopefully we can get through these next pre-season games with no injuries and look to build for Southend.”
